iPad Announcement, New Fan Forums

So, we've been a bit quiet lately and I am sure everyone is a bit curious what's up with Second Chance Heroes.

Well, we have some big news: Soon, Second Chance Heroes will launch first as a free-to-play game on the iPad.

SCH on iPad

There are quite a few reasons for the change in platform, but there is one that trumps all: We believe we can offer a game that is unrivaled in scope and quality on this device. Simply put, Second Chance Heroes makes an awesome iPad game and we're really excited about its potential on that device.

A change in platform also means a change in business model. It's a different world on the App Store, and the approach we've taken is unlike any other free-to-play game on the market. We'll have more details in the coming weeks, but we're confident that it'll both satisfy the needs of you as gamers as well as the realities of running a video game company.

Second Chance Heroes on the iPad is more than just a direct port. We've re-balanced the entire game and made a number of other changes big and small to take advantage of the opportunities an iPad offers.

One thing we want to be clear on though is that this doesn't mean we're abandoning our plans to release on the PC and Mac. The game is essentially ready for both, but unfortunately we have not had any luck in the quagmire of Steam Greenlight and we need your support to change that. We're very confident that it will be a success on PC and Mac, but for that to happen, we really need to be on Steam. Every vote brings us one step closer to a PC and Mac launch.

Today, we've also launched Official Forums. Here we hope to build a community in advance of the iPad and eventual PC/Mac launches. Our staff will be very active on the forums (as well as Twitter and Facebook) and happy to answer any questions you may have.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you back in our world very soon!
